Nevin Taylor, P.E., has been the founding partner and senior structural engineer at Durst & Taylor Structural Engineering, LLC since September 2015. Having graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1988, Nevin has been the lead structural engineer and project manager for and extensive array of projects in commercial, industrial, residential, educational, environmental, senior living, transit, and telecommunication sectors, with multiple assignments in each. Project types have included designs for new buildings as well as additions, renovations, and rehabilitations; comprehensive inspections and assessments; and feasibility studies and assessments.
At prior employments, Nevin has been a senior mentor to younger engineering staff members. As founding partner, Nevin takes special interest in DTSE’s marketing efforts.

Evan Laub, S.E., P.E. has been a partner and senior structural engineer at Durst & Taylor Structural Engineering, LLC (DTSE) since 2022. Graduating in 2008 from The University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a concentration in Structural Engineering, Evan has served as the Lead Structural Engineer and Project Manager for numerous structural, forensic, steel connection design, and miscellaneous metals projects. These projects have included new construction and building renovations to single and multi-family residential structures, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, schools, corporate offices, retail buildings, data centers, and churches. As the head of the Structural Building Design Group at DTSE, Evan strives to provide excellent customer service on all of his projects through collaboration, accuracy, and efficiency.

Sam Meyer, E.I.T. joined Durst & Taylor Structural Engineering, LLC in May 2024 after earning a B.S. in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University. As an Engineer-in-Training, Sam supports a wide range of structural design projects and is gaining experience that is required to pursue his Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in 2028. Most of his work includes the design of structural steel connections and miscellaneous metals such as stairs, platforms, ladders, railings, and canopies. He has contributed to reinforcement and support designs, including suspended Unistrut systems and joists, on projects across educational facilities, hospitals, wastewater treatment plants, and churches.

Derrick Y. Matthews, P.E. has been a Project Manager with Durst & Taylor Structural Engineering, LLC (DTSE) since February of 2023. Having graduated Temple University in 2016 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Derrick has been the lead on several design-build projects involving warehouse design, working directly with architects and general contractors. More recently at DTSE, Derrick has been the direct contact for several steel fabricators to preform delegated design on miscellaneous metals projects (stairs, hand rails, platforms, etc) and structural steel connections. Project types for these designs have included data centers, warehouses, resorts, building renovations, and manufacturing plants.
